The Associated Press is reporting that Senate Democrats plan to accept Roland Burris for President-elect Barack Obama's vacant seat and the junior U.S. senator from Illinois. No details were immediately available. 

PLYMOUTH — First-grader Michael Zalewski sat in the nurse's office at Plymouth Center School on Tuesday morning, waiting to have his teeth checked and cleaned by the visiting dentist.

More than 50 people donated food and clothes to a Waterbury family of six -- with four young children -- who lost nearly everything they owned when their Bishop Street apartment burned down Saturday.

 A Waterbury man is in critical condition this morning. He was hit Tuesday night by a car on Charles Street .

An accident was reported at 8:35 this morning on Route 8 northbound in Waterbury. It occurred between Exit 29 at Washington Avenue and Exit 31 -- which is the entrance to Interstate 84. There was no word on injuries or how long it would take to clear the roadway.
